Tips for Buying
We will sit down with you and go over your search parameters: neighborhood, price point, square footage, style of home, age of home, # of bedrooms/bathrooms, garage/no garage, attached/detached, renovated or original, etc. From there, we can set you up on a notification service, every time a new listing hits the market that matches your search parameters, it will be sent to your email address.
Home inspections: I always recommend that buyers have a home inspection done. It’s not worth trying to save $800, only to find out that you need to replace a collapsed sewer line or upgrade an electrical panel. scenario one; there are no issues and you have peace of mind (which rarely happens, there’s always something, even with new homes). Scenario two; we find significant issues and ask for a price reduction to cover the cost of the repairs.
Talk to your spouse. We’ve all seen the HGTV episodes where two spouses want the exact opposite things in a home and the realtor turns into a marriage counselor. You don’t need to agree on everything, and there may be some give n take, but at least if you’re both on the same page, it will give a starting point to work with.
